DOH

Why, why did I think it was a good idea to start with the cashmere and not swatch for Rogue?

I am obsessing at work about Rogue, won't get home until WAY after 9 tonight. Will be working most of the weekend. Cranky.

I adored the cashmere. My god, who wouldn't? But late last night I found a twisted stitch way back in row 2. No problemo, eh? I dropped the stitches down and brought them back up in the seed stitch patten. But it was too big. So I dropped the stitch next to it, and roped it back up. The looseness moved to the next column of stitches. Argh! As I'm only about 30 or so rows in, I think I"ll just rip it and start anew. But this means Rogue swatching will have to wait for now.

As it's for the shop, and not for me, the cashmere should really take first priority, right? Or will one wee swatch make *that* much of a difference? Hmmmm...

Anyway, I should get back to work and try to focus on non-knitting manners.
I'm off for now....

Lorraine ROCKs

Yarn shop owners are, by and by, wonderful people. There are some mean ones, some who just don't seem happy, or who seem to resent their customers. However, in my experience these types are few and far between. Most are warm and generous types. Lorraine, owner of A Good Yarn has acted as an angel for me more than once. Today was one of those days.

My fiance is sick and is starting interferon treatment this week. I went into the yarn shop to just pet some yarn and to consider using some lovely Jamieson for the Rogue sweater. I talked with Lorraine about it, how I am loading up on knitting materials as I'll need serious de-stressing while he undergoes treatment. She suggested doubling up the lovely Silky Wool from Elsebeth Lavold...yum!!!! I grabbed a skein to swatch. I took a gander at what she was working on- she was just starting a neck warmer in Cape Cod Cashmere. We did a swap. I am knitting up the neck warmer for the shop in exchange for one skein of Silky Wool. I am in yarn heaven!!!!

THANK YOU, Lorraine! I can now chill out with some blissful knitting tonight, first cashmere then Silky Wool! WOW!! Enough typing, it's time to get knitting!!

Another Knitting Blog

Just what the world needs, eh? Heh. Can't wait to learn to post pics and to get this blog moving right along!

First up: Girl From Auntie's Rogue Pullover. Just got the pattern- I think I have enough aran yarn in my stash to pull it off, as it only needs 1300 yards (I have just under 1500, I think). Would be good to use up some stash yarn. It's in the round to the arms, which I like. However, I have only limited experience with cables, and have never sewn set in sleeves. This will be an adventure!

Happily, there is my favorite local yarn shop, A Good Yarn in Fell's Point where I can go for help if needed. There's also a Rogue Knitalong, which maybe I should join.

As if I need a new project to start. But it will be SUCH FUN!!!!
